Political Philosophy
A Socialist Who Builds
Nonso is a socialist candidate who supports entrepreneurship. His goal is to make Anambra an egalitarian, socialist state that still backs a free market economy and enterprise, not to have government own the economy, but to have government build the platform (infrastructure, institutions, skills, finance access) broad enough, statewide, that ordinary people, not only the well-connected, can build businesses, find good jobs and prosper on top of it. He will pursue this through Anambra State legislation, sponsored from his seat representing Nnewi South I, which will lead the way in implementation.

Engr. Nwachukwu Chukwunonso Victor (Nonso Nwachukwu) is a Nigerian civil engineer, entrepreneur, technology founder, real-estate professional and finance practitioner with a career spanning engineering, construction, real estate, financial technology and digital assets.
His professional journey has been built around a simple idea: problems should be solved by building things that work.
From engineering and construction to real estate finance and technology, Nonso has consistently worked at the intersection of infrastructure, business, technology and capital.
He is seeking to bring that experience into public service, with a particular interest in practical economic development, enterprise, infrastructure, opportunity and stronger institutions.
Education
Bachelor of Engineering, Civil Engineering
Nonso studied Civil Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) and graduated in 2016. His engineering education gave him a foundation in structural engineering, construction, infrastructure, geotechnical engineering, project management, engineering design, construction economics, technical problem-solving and quantitative analysis.
Engineering shaped the way he approaches problems: understand the underlying structure, identify what is failing, design a workable solution, and execute it. That approach has continued throughout his professional career.
Master's in Finance
Nonso has a Master's degree in Finance from Rome Business School. His postgraduate work has expanded his understanding of financial markets, corporate finance, investment, risk management, financial institutions, fintech, capital allocation and business strategy.
His academic work includes research into credit-risk management in the fintech sector, examining the operations and risk-management framework of Renmoney Microfinance Bank in Lagos.
This combination of engineering and finance has become an important part of his professional outlook: development requires both physical infrastructure and the financial systems capable of funding it.
Professional Journey
Nonso's career began in engineering and construction before expanding into entrepreneurship, real estate and technology.
Polygon Constructions
Between 2014 and 2017, Nonso worked with Polygon Constructions, gaining practical experience in construction and engineering. This period exposed him to the realities of delivering physical projects, from technical design and construction processes to project coordination and execution. It also gave him first-hand experience with some of the challenges that businesses and professionals encounter within Nigeria's construction environment.
Decagon Consultants Limited
Nonso became a founder of Decagon Consultants Limited, a company operating around real estate financing and construction engineering. Through Decagon, his professional interests expanded beyond simply designing and constructing buildings. He became increasingly interested in the bigger question: how do we make it easier to finance, develop and own productive real estate? This led him deeper into real-estate finance, investment structures and technology.
Deck Finance
Nonso founded a technology company focused on the intersection of real estate and blockchain technology. The company subsequently evolved into Deck Finance, with a more focused mission around real-estate tokenization and investment infrastructure. The work involves exploring how technology can make real-estate investment more accessible, transparent and liquid.
- Tokenized real estate
- Tokenized REIT structures
- Real-estate investment
- On-chain ownership infrastructure
- Real-estate liquidity
- Digital investment products
- Automated rental-income mechanisms
- Real-estate financing infrastructure
Engineering + Finance + Technology
One of the defining characteristics of Nonso's career is that he has not remained within a single professional discipline. His experience spans three major areas: Engineering, understanding how physical infrastructure is designed and built; Finance, understanding how capital is raised, allocated, managed and protected; and Technology, understanding how digital systems can make economic activity faster, cheaper and more accessible.
He believes these disciplines increasingly overlap. A modern economy needs roads, buildings, power and physical infrastructure, but it also needs efficient financial systems, technology, businesses and institutions capable of turning those resources into productive economic activity.
Professional and Technical Experience
Nonso has developed experience across a broad range of technical and business disciplines.
Engineering: his background includes structural engineering, construction, geotechnical engineering, building information modelling, construction project management, engineering design, quantity and cost considerations, and infrastructure development. He has worked with engineering and construction software including SAP2000, STAAD.PRO, Orion, AutoCAD and Revit/BIM systems.
Business & Management: his entrepreneurial work has involved business development, product development, strategic partnerships, investor relations, fundraising, project management, team management, growth strategy, financial modelling, real-estate finance and corporate strategy. He has also worked with modern business and productivity platforms including Jira, Asana, Trello, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Salesforce, HubSpot and Buildium.
Blockchain & Financial Technology: his technology experience includes work with Solidity, Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) infrastructure, smart contracts, Chainlink, Pyth, Wormhole, Uniswap, automated market makers, tokenomics, decentralized finance, real-world asset tokenization and digital asset infrastructure.
Professional Certifications & Training
Nonso has supplemented his formal university education with professional training in entrepreneurship, product management and construction.
- Google Agile Product Management
- Harvard Business School Entrepreneurship
- Columbia University Construction Project Management
International and Public-Interest Experience
Nonso has also participated in international discussions around development and climate-related issues. He was a delegate at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26.
That experience exposed him to international conversations surrounding climate change, sustainable development, infrastructure, energy, economic transformation, environmental policy and international cooperation. It reinforced his interest in the relationship between economic development, infrastructure and long-term sustainability.
A Builder by Profession
Nonso describes himself first and foremost as a builder. That does not only mean constructing buildings. It means building businesses, technology, institutions, infrastructure, financial systems, opportunities, teams and solutions.
His professional history has repeatedly moved in this direction. He began by learning how to build physical structures. He moved into building companies. He then moved into building financial and technological infrastructure. His entry into public service represents another extension of the same philosophy: using practical experience to contribute to the development of the community.
Why Engineering Matters to His Public-Service Outlook
Engineering teaches a particular way of thinking. A bridge cannot be completed by speeches. A building cannot stand because people wish it to stand. A drainage system has to actually carry water. A road has to actually connect communities. A business-support programme has to actually help businesses. A government institution has to actually deliver services.
For Nonso, this is an important distinction between announcing development and engineering development. His professional background has trained him to think in terms of systems, resources, constraints, implementation and measurable outcomes.
Why Entrepreneurship Matters
As an entrepreneur, Nonso has experienced the practical realities of starting and operating businesses. That includes raising capital, managing limited resources, recruiting people, building products, finding customers, developing partnerships, managing risk, navigating regulation, competing in difficult markets and turning ideas into operating businesses.
This experience has shaped his view that government should not treat entrepreneurs, traders, farmers, artisans and small businesses merely as beneficiaries of government programmes. They are economic actors. They create employment, provide services, move goods, generate income and keep local economies functioning.
A Career Connected to Real Estate
Real estate has been a recurring theme throughout Nonso's career. His experience connects three parts of the sector: Construction → Real Estate → Finance.
He understands real estate not only as buildings, but as an economic system involving land, construction, property management, investment, financing, ownership, rental income, infrastructure, capital markets and technology. His work on real-estate tokenization has further exposed him to new approaches to property ownership and investment.
Leadership and Team Experience
As an entrepreneur and founder, Nonso has worked with multidisciplinary teams covering engineering, finance, legal and compliance, product development, software engineering, security, marketing, growth, investor relations and partnerships.
This experience has required him to coordinate people with different skills toward common objectives. It has also reinforced his belief that effective leadership is less about having all the answers personally and more about building competent teams capable of solving difficult problems.
Continuous Learning
Nonso has maintained a strong interest in learning beyond his primary profession, including finance, investment banking, real estate, financial technology, blockchain, entrepreneurship, construction technology, infrastructure, economic development, product management and business strategy.
His professional development has therefore evolved from engineering → construction → entrepreneurship → real estate → finance → technology.
What Nonso Brings to Public Service
Nonso's background is unusual because it combines several professional perspectives.
As an engineer: he understands infrastructure and technical execution. As an entrepreneur: he understands the challenges of building and operating businesses. As a real-estate professional: he understands property, construction and development. As a finance student and practitioner: he understands capital, investment and financial risk. As a technology founder: he understands digital transformation and emerging technology. As a team leader: he understands coordination, accountability and execution.
Together, these experiences shape his approach to public service.
His Approach
Nonso believes public leadership should ultimately be judged by what changes in people's everyday lives. That means looking beyond political titles and asking practical questions.
For him, development is not an abstract concept. It is the accumulation of improvements that people can actually experience.
- Can people earn more?
- Can businesses grow?
- Can young people find productive opportunities?
- Can farmers reach markets?
- Can traders operate in better conditions?
- Can artisans access finance and infrastructure?
- Can communities attract investment?
- Can public institutions become more effective?
- Can infrastructure actually be maintained?
- Can government programmes be measured?
- Can public resources be accounted for?
A New Generation of Leadership
Nonso belongs to a generation that has grown up in a rapidly changing Nigeria, one familiar with smartphones, digital banking, entrepreneurship, remote work, global markets, blockchain, artificial intelligence, online education and international competition.
He believes public institutions must understand this changing environment rather than remain disconnected from it. The future economy will require people who understand both local realities and global opportunities. His own career has required him to operate across both worlds.
From Nnewi South to the World
Nnewi and the wider Southeast have a long tradition of entrepreneurship, commerce, manufacturing and self-reliance. Nonso's professional career has taken that entrepreneurial spirit into new sectors, including technology, finance and digital infrastructure.
His experience has shown him that people from this region can compete internationally when they have access to capital, knowledge, infrastructure, technology, markets, strong institutions, networks and opportunity. The challenge is to convert individual entrepreneurial energy into broader economic development.
Personal Philosophy
At the centre of Nonso's professional and public philosophy is a belief in opportunity, enterprise, competence and accountable institutions.
He believes people should have the opportunity to build a good life through their own work and enterprise, while public institutions should create the conditions that make that possible. Government has an important role to play in providing the foundations upon which citizens can build: good infrastructure, fair institutions, economic opportunity, education, security, access to capital and an environment where businesses can operate.
The Journey So Far
From studying Civil Engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, to working in construction, founding a consulting firm, building a technology company, pursuing postgraduate finance education and participating in international development discussions, Nonso's career has followed a consistent theme: Learn. Build. Solve problems. Create opportunity.
He now seeks to apply the lessons acquired through that journey to public service. Not as someone who has spent his entire career inside politics, but as someone whose professional life has been spent building businesses, solving technical problems, managing teams and exploring new ways of creating economic value.
“I have spent my professional life learning how things are built: buildings, businesses, technology and financial systems. Public service, to me, is another opportunity to build: to help create institutions, infrastructure and economic opportunities that allow ordinary people to build better lives for themselves and their families.”
